Arrival checklist
Setting up your Guatemala eSIM at the airport
A simple, step‑by‑step guide to turning on your Guatemala eSIM as soon as you land, so you can get online before you leave the terminal.
Before you fly
- Purchase your preferred Guatemala eSIM package.
- Install the eSIM over Wi‑Fi at home or in the lounge using the QR code we email you.
- Check that mobile data works on your main SIM in case you need a backup at arrival.
When you land in Guatemala
- Turn off airplane mode once the plane has parked and it is safe to do so.
- Go to your phone's mobile or cellular settings and select the Guatemala eSIM line you installed earlier.
- Set the eSIM as your data line and enable data roaming for that line.
- Wait a few moments while your device connects to the local network. You should see signal bars and a data indicator.
The plan's validity period starts when the eSIM first connects to a supported network in Guatemala, not when you buy or install it.
Common issues and quick fixes
- No signal yet? Toggle airplane mode off and on, or briefly disable and re‑enable the eSIM line.
- Still offline? Make sure data roaming is enabled specifically for the Guatemala eSIM line.
- Very slow speeds? Move closer to windows or out of underground areas where signal is weaker.
Skip airport SIM stalls and roaming desks
With a prepaid Guatemala eSIM, you do not need to line up at kiosks or change physical SIM cards after a long flight. Your data plan is already on your phone—just turn it on and go.
